Roxy was my first dog that I personally owned, other than the family pets that
we had while I was growing up.
I first saw Rottweilers while living in Germany
from 1985-1988 and fell in love with the breed.
When I returned to Canada, I found a breeder near where I was living in Ottawa
and adopted Roxy in September 1988. She taught me a lot about handling a
large breed dog and working patiently in obedience class. We finally
achieved a CD after 13 trials and she never made the same mistake in each trial
we failed. It was always an adventure to enter the ring and not know what
she would do each time. Of course she always did the exercises perfectly when we
were practicing at home.
Like Beaumont, Roxy died at 9.5 years old while I
was living in Winnipeg in 1998.
